1. Start with the tripod
   
2. Using the fliplocks extend the legs of the tripod to your desired height
3. Once extended lock the legs into place with the fliplocks
4. Next, take the black easel and look on the back for the quick release plate that is already screwed into the square block (don't unscrew or remove this plate)
5. Then, look at the top of the tripod and locate the pan head that this plate fits into
6. Pull down the black lever on the left side of this pan head and insert the quick release plate
7. Push the lever back up into place to secure the easel to the tripod
8. Next, take the tripod tray and slip it onto the legs of the tripod
9. Lay the palette on the tray and insert the water cup in the hole
10. Add your canvas, brushes and paints and ENJOY!

NOTE: To use the easel on a table top surface:

1. Remove the easel from the tripod. 
2. Unscrew the quick release plate on the back of the easel and put it into the pan head of the tripod for safe keeping.
3. Detach the table leg from the magnet on the back of the easel. (The table leg looks like a long screw with a black cap on the end.) 
4. Screw the table leg into the block on the back of the easel. 
5. Enjoy your table top easel!

Unpack your gear.

1. Start with the tripod

10. Lift the tab at the back of the palette cover and slide it off, then flip the cover over and slide it back underneath the palette
11. Pull out the sliding shelf approximately 6” (you can position the shelf on either side of the palette).  Attach the spring clamp to the tripod leg above the palette.  Make sure the clamp is on the leg - opposite side of the shelf
12. Open the turps jar lid and position the jar in the 3” hole
13. Adjust the panel holder brackets 90 degrees by loosening the star knobs.  Adjust the height of the brackets to fit your panel. Place your panel in the brackets and tighten the star knobs to ensure a snug fit. 
14. Add your brushes and paints and ENJOY!

13. Open the turps jar lid and position the jar in the 3” hole (Note:  Shelf with turps jar hole can be switched to either side of the palette.)
14. Adjust the panel holder brackets 90 degrees by loosening the star knobs.  Adjust the height of the brackets to fit your panel. Place your panel in the brackets and tighten the star knobs to ensure a snug fit.

HOLDS ALL PASTEL PLEIN AIR PACKAGE ITEMS

Unpack your gear.

1. Start with the tripod.

4. Crank the center column up to the desired height.  Turn the center locking collar to a snug position to hold the column in place.
5. Next, take the palette and slip it onto the legs of the tripod.
6. Unhook the bungee cord from the shelves.
7. Pull out both sliding shelves approximately 6”. 
8. Lift the cover from the palette and position it at the back of the palette against the center column of the tripod. Then take the bungee cord and hook one end of the cord in the hole located on the left corner of the cover.  Take the cord behind the cover and stretch it around the back of the tripod center column and insert the other hook into the slot on the right side of the lid.
9. Next, take the Panel Holder and look for the quick release plate that is already screwed onto the aluminum channel (don't unscrew or remove this plate).
10. Then, look at the top of the tripod and locate the pan head that this plate fits into.
11. Pull down the grey lever on the left side of this pan head and insert the quick release plate.
12. Push the lever back up into place to secure the easel to the tripod.
13. Adjust the panel holder brackets 90 degrees by loosening the star knobs.  Adjust the height of the brackets to fit your panel. Place your panel in the brackets and tighten the star knobs to ensure a snug fit. 
14. Next, add the dust ledge under the bottom bracket by unscrewing   the star knob from the back of he dust ledge.  Put the dust ledge (screw) through the open channel of the panel holder.  Then screw the star knob back onto the screw (the knob should be on the back of the panel holder similar to the brackets.)  Tilt the panel holder slightly forward so the pastel dust falls freely from the panel and lands in the dust ledge.  To empty the dust ledge, simply loosen the star knob and tilt the ledge to either side to empty. 
15. Attach the spring clamp to the tripod leg above the palette for more stability.
16. Add your pastels and ENJOY!
