Our Additional Pastel Organizer Tray has 6 foam sections measuring 4.25” x 6” each and holds approximately 18 pastels in each section for a total of up to 108 pastels in the full tray.
The cover has a foam mat adhered to the inside to protect your pastels when you close the cover.
Simply slide out your original pastel tray (that came with the Pastel Plein Air Package – no need to remove your pastels) and slip this extra pastel tray into the palette shelf. Place the dedicated cover over the first shelf to secure your pastels.

The En Plein Air Pro Advanced Series Oil & Acrylic Package, with our new Pro Series Panel Holder, handles canvas panels or stretched canvas up to 22” tall or down to 6” x 8” (the most popular range for outdoor painting). The panel holder is a structural aluminum channel with ABS brackets. Max height to center of panel or canvas is 58″. Our vertical mounting design eliminates the “top heavy rocking” that can occur in other tripod/pochade box set-ups.
The Advanced Series Oil and Acrylic Palette is lightweight, functional, and truly unique. Our Palette Frame features a 6-hole brush holder. At 15.25” x 9.5”, this palette offers over 144 sq. in. of mixing area. The working surface is a clear 1/8″ abrasion resistant layer which resists scratching and cleans up with a supplied squeegee and paper towel moistened with turps. Underneath is a neutral gray background with value scale. The thoughtful design incorporates a grey PVC slide on cover that allows transport of wet paint to and from the field. On location, flip the cover over and slide underneath, and you have an extra shelf with a 3″ hole for the PETG plastic lock-tight turps jar. The maximum height from the ground to top of palette is 35″.
The Slide-out Side Shelf is our newest innovation. Made of 6mm grey PVC, this shelf is the perfect place to lay your palette knife or your ‘thumbnail sketch’, or cups for painting mediums, oil, etc. The Shelf will fit on either side of palette and has extra holes for brushes. Unpack your gear.
Start with the tripod
Using the fliplocks extend the legs of the tripod to your desired height
Once extended lock the legs into place with the fliplocks
Crank the center column up to the desired height. Turn the center locking collar to a snug position to hold the column in place
Next, take the Panel Holder and look for the quick release plate that is already screwed onto the aluminum channel (don't unscrew or remove this plate)
Then, look at the top of the tripod and locate the pan head that this plate fits into
Pull down the grey lever on the left side of this pan head and insert the quick release plate
Push the lever back up into place to secure the easel to the tripod
Next, take the palette and slip it onto the legs of the tripod
Lift the tab at the back of the palette cover and slide it off, then flip the cover over and slide it back underneath the palette
Pull out the sliding shelf approximately 6” (you can position the shelf on either side of the palette). Attach the spring clamp to the tripod leg above the palette. Make sure the clamp is on the leg - opposite side of the shelf
Open the turps jar lid and position the jar in the 3” hole
Adjust the panel holder brackets 90 degrees by loosening the star knobs. Adjust the height of the brackets to fit your panel. Place your panel in the brackets and tighten the star knobs to ensure a snug fit.

Unpack your gear.
Start with the tripod

Unscrew the quick release plate on the back of the easel and put it into the pan head of the tripod for safe keeping.
Detach the table leg from the magnet on the back of the easel. (The table leg looks like a long screw with a black cap on the end.)
Screw the table leg into the block on the back of the easel.
